Where can I find the BOM numbers on my axle?

Postby johnrc68 » Thu Jul 12, 2012 11:09 am

Hi I have a 2002 Jeep TJ and I need to replace my drivers side rear axle. My mechanic asked me to look for the BOM on the axle, but I don't know where to find it. A quick internet search said it should be on the axle tube, but I cannot locate it.

Thanks in advance!

John the BOM #'s on the Dana axles can be located here.

When facing any DANA looking at the cover whether its a front or rear axle the BOM will be stamped into the tube no matter what, usually a few inches off from where the tube is pressed into the center section.

DANA will also have a tag bolted to 2 bolts on the cover with the BOM number, if that is missing then look for the BOM stamped in the axle tube as seen below
